The tournament is open to all chess players nationwide and internationally. For the 1800 and Above Tournament, players must have a minimum active FIDE rating of 1800 or a peak rating of 1800 & above within 36 months of the start of the tournament, and FIDE ID is mandatory. For the Below 1800 Tournament, unrated players and players rated under 1800 (who have not attained a peak rating of 1800 & above in the past 36 months) are eligible.
1800 and Above Category: Minimum active FIDE rating of 1800 or a peak rating of 1800 & above within 36 months of the start of the tournament. FIDE ID is strictly mandatory during registration.
Below 1800 Category: Rating must be under 1800 FIDE. Players having a peak rating of 1800 & above within 36 months of the start of the tournament are ineligible for Below 1800. Unrated players are welcome to compete.
1800 and Above: Goa resident fee is ₹4,500 and Non-Goa fee is ₹5,000.
Below 1800: Goa resident fee is ₹2,500 and Non-Goa fee is ₹3,000.
Valid proof of Goa domicile/residence is checked during reporting.
An Early Bird discount (₹500 per player for 1800 & Above / ₹200 per player for Below 1800) is automatically deducted from the entry fee for registrations completed on or before 30 September 2026.
- 1800 and Above Early Bird: Goa = ₹4,000, Non-Goa = ₹4,500.
- Below 1800 Early Bird: Goa = ₹2,300, Non-Goa = ₹2,800.
- 1800 and Above (6 Days Stay): ₹3,000 per person.
- Below 1800 (3 Days Stay): ₹1,500 per person.
Selecting official accommodation (Non-AC) makes purchasing an official vegetarian meal package compulsory. Dinner is not served on the final day post-ceremony.
